It's just another manic Monday

Well another fabulous weekend has come & gone quicker than I would've liked.
I was back to work this morning, with coffee in my hand & left-over biscuits & gravy from Saturday morning.  We had a great weekend, without a minute to spare, per usual.
Friday after work, we headed over to Michael's wine tasting in Newport then decided on Don Pablo's for dinner.  Margarita's & chips & salsa on the River?  Yes please!!

We had plans of just dinner & a drink, but Mike & one of his friends ended up meeting us there, so one drink turned into this.......

Saturday morning we woke up, & ran some errands.  While running these said errands, we found & bought a 6 man raft for the boat!  I think we'll call it our island.
WE CAN NOT WAIT TO USE IT.
It comes with 8 cup holders & 2 coolers built in!  Talk about fancy.  I see myself floating on this bad boy all day long on the River.  Let's keep in mind it'll hold our entire family.  No fighting over the raft?  That's unheard of!  After a little shopping, we headed to the pool for a few hours.

Creag & I may or may not have raced down the slide.  And I may still be hurting this morning from a severe sunburn!  It was a great day at the pool, & I cannot wait to take the kids this coming weekend.  They're going to love it!  We left the pool around dinner time, & headed home to get ready for Sammie's first Dance Recital.  I hopped in the shower, & dinner was ready for me when I got out....
I love my husband!

After dinner, we stopped off quickly to sign Skylar up for cheer leading & then headed over to The Taft Theatre for Sam's recital.  She danced to "Wild Thing" & was absolutely adorable in her costume.  It really made me miss the days that Skylar was in ballet & going to her recitals.  It's hard to believe she started at 2.5 years old, 7 years ago!!

Sammie holding her flowers from her Daddy after the show:)

After the recital, Creag's parents invited us out for dessert.  We went to Nicholson's, a little Irish Pub downtown.  I had the apple cobbler with vanilla ice cream & it hit the spot.  It was the perfect ending to a perfect day.  Sunday was spent running around.  I'm telling ya, there is no rest for the wicked!  We returned a tree that had died from last year, bought & planted some more flowers.  Took back a few of pieces of furniture that we were having replaced for warranty from our bedroom.  Picked up Skylar's new bed from my parents house.  She's using my old Queen size bed that I used in my apartment.  The poor child was getting way too big for her twin sized bed so I'm thankful that my parents let me have it back for her to use.  We got home late...like 10PM & got the bed set up for her.  Her room is now an absolute mess & waiting for me to get home later!  I have to hopefully finish it up tonight after gymnastics.  I can't wait to see it when it's done.  I went at lunch & got her a new zebra print comforter at her request.  It should be super cute in her bright pink room.  Pictures to come, for sure.

What I'm loving lately....

WYATT'S DONUT FACE:)

THE 2ND ANNUAL MUDSTACHE IS THIS WEEKEND
We aren't able to do it this year, but it's fun to remember last year.

MY NEW SCENTSY WARMER!
IT REMINDS ME OF NOLA & MY WEDDING:)

SPEAKING OF WEDDING, WE FINALLY GOT OUR MARRIAGE LICENSE!
I CHANGED OUT THE CENTERPIECE ON OUR KITCHEN TABLE.
PRETTY CUTE, & MAKES ME THIRSTY!

AND LASTLY......
I LOVE THAT IT'S FRIDAY, FRIDAY, GOTTA GET DOWN ON FRIDAY!

I love me a date night

Let us rewind, shall we?
A few weeks ago, we decided to use a gift certificate for Bella Luna that we'd gotten for Christmas from Mica & Tyler.  To me, there's nothing better than getting dressed up & enjoying a nice quiet meal.  Especially when you have a gift certificate:)

The Martinis were excellent.  The calamari was to die for, & dinner was amazing.
I ordered a dish that they claim is "the best damn dish in Cincinnati" & they weren't kidding.
Some type of prime rib ravioli, oh myyyyy deliciousness!

Thanks Mica for introducing us to The Bella Luna.
We well definitely be going back!

The Flying Pig

Last Sunday, we woke up at the crack of dawn (5:00 AM!) & headed downtown for Creag's second Half Marathon.

I managed to sneak in a few pictures while he was stretching.
Lemme tell you, I've been admiring his arms ever since!
Mmh, Mmh, Mmh:)

It was crazy to see the THOUSANDS of people behind the starting line.
Makes me wish I was motivated enough to run 13.1 miles.
But, let's be serious, that'll never happen!

My view of the runners at the starting line.
Creag had a goal set of finishing the race in 2 Hrs flat, so I kind of knew when to put my book away & be looking for him.  He crossed the starting line at about 6:36, so when 8:36 passed & he hadn't crossed I felt myself become a little bummed.  It was his goal, & I knew it was important to him so I kind of felt his pain.  He had worked so hard for this & I really wanted to see him make it in 2 hrs.:(

He finished in 2 Hrs & 5 Minutes.
(he's the one in the bright orange shorts)
I have to say, that he looked so much better crossing the finish line this time.  His first Half Marathon, not kidding he looked like he was about to die!  He looked exhausted.  He looked like he was in pain.  He just didn't look good at all.  Not this time though.  He looked good!

Stretching afterward.
He wasn't too hard on himself for not making the 2 Hrs.  We both knew that if there weren't so many people that he would've hit it, no doubt.  It was just way too congested at first, & he had to do way too much zig-zagging to get around people.  We're traveling to Chicago early June, & there just happens to be a Half Marathon while we're there, so he's gonna sign up & try for the 2 Hrs. again.  He won't move on to the full Marathon until he hits it, so we shall see how it goes!

Blue Ribbon 5K

Last Saturday, the whole Fam-damily participated in the Blue Ribbon 5K Race near our house.
Now when I say the whole family participated, I mean they participated in some way.
The kids didn't run the 5K. They're not ready for that just yet.
They had a kids race, before the 5K in the parking lot.
That's a little more their style...

Their race started at about 9:15.
I don't know if you can tell, but it was REALLY cold that morning.
Not gonna lie, there was some whining but they fought through it.
Their race was pretty simple.
They got a ready-set-GO & they were off.....
I was pretty surprised & proud when Skylar WON the race!
I think they'll be up for a more challenging race in the near future.

We were very proud of all of them & they had a lot of fun.
That's ultimately what matters the most, right?
After their run, they had daycare available for parents who wanted to run the 5K which was awesome!  Creag & I wouldn't have both been able to run if they hadn't have had this service available.  They had games & prizes for the kids to win, so I wasn't really worried about how they'd do with us gone for about a half hr.
While a 5K is nothing to Creag.
(He's busy training for his 2nd Half Marathon.)
It's a pretty big deal to me.
This was only my second time running a 5K & I hadn't trained at all this time!
I'm not too, too motivated on the running front so I was a little worried about being able to finish.
My first 5K, I ran with Creag & he stayed by my side the entire race.
We finished it in 36 minutes flat & I ran the entire time.
This time, I wanted to run it on my own.
I didn't want to worry about slowing Creag down, or trying to keep up with him if I was tired.
I wanted to walk if I wanted.  It was all about running it at MY pace.
He was pretty shocked when I told him he didn't have to run it with me.
I wanted to do this one on my own.  And I did!!
I even finished with better time than my first 5K.  And I walked quite a bit.
I finished at 34:57!!  I was pretty happy with myself, & now I'm considering a 10K.
AT MY OWN PACE!!
Creag finished way earlier than I did, which I knew he would.
He finished 11th place out of 200 & something people!
I am soooo proud of him for how far he's come with running.  He just started a year ago in April & absolutely loves it.  He'll be running his 2nd Half Marathon this Sunday & he's hoping to finish it in under 2 hrs.  I wish him the best of luck, but I think that he's being wayyyy to hard on himself after just having knee surgery a few months ago.  I guess that's just the concerned wife in me!

One Month!!

One month ago today & about an hour from now I was in New Orleans about to get married!!
The walk to the trolley stop, the ride to the park & then seeing my fiancee for the first time while I walked up the steps of the gazebo was like a fairytale that I never want to forget.
April 1st was our day.
We did everything exactly how WE wanted, with some of our closest friends & family by our side.
It was everything that I could've dreamed of & more.

There is so much more that I need to document, & so many pictures to share.
I don't want to forget a single part of the trip, or our wedding day.
Until then...
I'm going to finish up my day at the office & then head home to celebrate one month with my husband!  I taste a margarita in my future;)

CHEERS!
