Running Club & a 5K

Sky trained most of the school year with a running club for a 5K that she'd run with other running clubs in the school district.  It was a great little extra curricular activity that she seemed to enjoy.  I was at Wyatt's baseball game so Creag & Sam went to cheer her on.  Creag's a runner, so he's always so proud of her when she takes on stuff like this!  We're proud of you Sky, keep it up!!

Reese Cup Love

What you'll need:
Cupcake Liners
Reese Cups
No Bake Cheesecake Mix
Chocolate Chips or PB Chips (I used both)

I wanted to make my Mom a dessert that she'd love for Mothers Day and with our busy schedule, I didn't have a whole lot of time.  I turned to Pinterest & found this recipe.  It was so, so easy.  You place the Reese Cups in the bottom of your cupcake liners, mix the No Bake Cheesecake by the instructions on the box.  Pour over the Reese Cups & top with Chocolate & PB Chips.  Cool for a few hours and they're ready to enjoy!  Easy, peesy, just the way I like it :)

Mother's Day

The night before Mothers Day, Creag cooked us one of the best meals that I've probably ever had!  Steak Oscar, over top of mashed cauliflower.  It was so, so good & we loved every single bite.  Mothers Day was spent at the Reds Game with Yvonne, Dave, Mica, Tyler, Ellery, Willis & Michael.  We spent the day in the Suite & had a great time.  After the game, we picked up BBQ and had Mom & Dad over for dinner.  I'm so blessed to have a big family to celebrate with, a husband to make these holidays special for me & kids that I love more than anything.

Deck Redo

We've been in our house for a few years now & have never really put a lot of thought and effort into our deck.  We've tried small things here and there to make it cozy, but it was never really what we wanted until now.  Mica & Tyler gave us their old patio set, so we decided it was time to go all out & make our deck the oasis that we've always wanted.  We bought the fireplace, love seat, chair, rug & accessories from Home Depot/Lowes & Creag strung the lights which give it a courtyard feel.  We absolutely LOVE it & we've already spent so many nights out on the deck, eating dinner & relaxing by the fire.  If you love being outside, I definitely recommend making your space something that reflects you, so you can enjoy your time at home to the fullest.

Take Me Out To the Ballgame

There are only a few things better than baseball season.
There's just something about the fresh spring air.
Ballpark hot dogs, peanuts & cold drinks.
There's also the great feeling of watching your child playing a sport that he loves,
and beaming with pride when he gets a hit or catches a fly ball.

Pitt Stop (New Orleans!!)

After our week in Perdido Key, we were so lucky to have a little extra time to drive to New Orleans for the day.  We were married there two years ago & were anxious to go back & visit all of the places that made our wedding week so special.  On the way, we stopped at the USS Battleship & did a small tour.  It was pretty awesome to see a Battleship that was actually used in WWII!

We got into New Orleans around lunch time and the first thing we wanted to do was drive by the house that we stayed in.  The good old house on Dryades St.!  I guess the door still won't close.

We had many breakfasts at the New Orleans Coffee & Beignet Co., so we stopped there for Beignets before heading over to Audubon Park.  It was such a beautiful day & so cool to see all of these places again.  The park was just as beautiful as we remembered.  The kids hung from the same tree that they all hung from for pictures the day that we decided to have our wedding there.  Hank & Creag tossed football & we kicked a soccer ball around.

After we finished up at the park, we took a cab into the city.  We walked around for quite a while & had dinner at an oyster joint.  We rode the trolley back to the one place I missed out on, on the morning of the wedding.  The Cheesecake Bistro.  I was so sick, I couldn't stay the first time around so I'm so glad I got to indulge in a piece of Cheesecake this time around.

It was definitely an awesome day, in a city that we'll never forget & always hold dear.  We hope to get back often!

Vow Renewal (Perdido Key)

What an awesome experience to be a part of such an important day.
25 Years is quite a long time & very admirable...
So grateful they wanted us all to be a part of it!

Wyatt, you ended the night, falling down the steps of the Sail Boat & getting a giant goose egg on your head.  Shortly after, Hank, you cut your foot on the door of the restroom.  Never, ever a dull moment with you boys ;)

Vacation Shenanigans (Perdido Key)

We did quite a few other things besides just rest our bums on the beach all week.
Creag & I took the girls on Vacation in 2010 to Gulf Shores & we went to the Hang Out for the first time.  We thought it'd be cool to take all of the kids there again.

We saw the Blue Angels show at the Naval Base & had lunch at the Rib Shack afterward.

We celebrated Ellery's 4th Birthday & watched the Kentucky Wildcats in the Final Game of the Final Four.  Unfortunately they lost.  Can't win 'em all right?

We had Ice Cream.

Had Oysters at the Flora Bama.

And had a celebratory dinner with the whole family.

And our last night in town we played a little Putt-Putt.
