The Day of Love

Valentines Day this year was on a Friday.  The kids had their parties at school that day & here's a little quick peek of their Valentines.  I made Wyatt's & loved every second of putting them together.  Skylar didn't want store bought ones this year, so she created her own & printed them at home & then glued them to construction paper.  They say "You are one in a Minion!!"  Very, Very cute!  Skylar also got her very first Valentines gift from her boyfriend, a necklace with her initial!

Sky's Valentine Nails, Penguin & all...

The kids had early release at school because of the incoming Snow Storm & by 5:00 the roads had gotten kind of bad.  Creag was planning on cooking a nice meal at home, so I stopped off at the store & picked up a few things to make for dessert & picked up the usual small box of candy that I give the kids every year.  I promise I'll still do this when they're grown!

We got home & Creag gave us girls all our own bouquet of flowers & he also gave me Amos Lee Concert tickets & Ghirardelli Chocolates!!  He cooked Garlic Chicken, Spaghetti Squash, Potatos & Garlic Bread for dinner & it turned out very good.  I had just had a Tonsillectomy about a week prior, so unfortunately I didn't get to finish much of it.  I ended up over doing it & started hurting a little so I had to take a time out & relax a little before we started dessert.

More on the rest of the weekend & this gigantic slice of pizza coming soon!

Sammie's 7th Birthday

This year for Sam's Birthday, we kept it pretty simple.  I made her the Barbie Cake & we had close family & a few neighborhood kids over for Pizza, Cake & Ice Cream.  It's hard to believe that she's now 7 Years Old!  She's growing up to be a very mature, sweet, responsible girl!

Happy Belated Birthday, Sammie!!

He'd never seen a Dude in a Speedo before....

Creag & I had the day to ourselves, so we stopped off at a Fall Festival.
Creag napped some while we were there.

We bought our pumpkins & a few cornstalks for the porch.

Hank had his Football Party at Ollies to close the Season.

Skylar begged me to cut her bangs!

Take 2 is a little better...

It started getting dark early, so we had a few Soccer Practices in the dark.

Date Night out.
Yuengling Battered Shrimp was amazing!!

Skylar got out of school for Jaw Pain & ended up coming to work with me for the day.

Some of our Flowers.
Man I can't wait for these again!!

2 Goals for Skylar at her last Soccer Game!

And I had a proud Mama moment when a parent recognized
Skylar for standing up for her son against bullying at school.

October was obviously a pretty good month, full of fun & good food!

We Won the Lottery

No, we didn't win the "Money Lottery", but back in September, we entered a Lottery for Jack Johnson Tour Tickets & got 'em!  You see, Jack Johnson is the type of Musician, who doesn't do it for the fame or the money.  He does it because he loves it, and he tours for cause.  He's done two Tours now, where all of the profit went straight to charity.  This time around, he played in very small, quaint venues with limited seating.  Only a select few were chosen, so we were very lucky to experience this.  The morning of, I found it pretty fitting to cook Banana Pancakes for breakfast.

My parents came over to our house to watch the kids, and we hit the road early afternoon to head to Indianapolis.  We had a drink and an appetizer at our Hotel Bar/Lounge before cabbing it to the Venue for the concert.  Poutine was on the Menu and Poutine is what we ordered.  Delicious!!

The concert was amazing.  Very different from the last one we went to, which was outdoors with thousands of people.  He played for awhile, and he played songs that Creag could sing along to the entire time...and he did.  I wasn't lucky enough to be able to since I don't know all of the lyrics.  It's always more fun to be able to sing along at concerts, don't you think?

After the concert, we stopped at The Colts Grille for a drink and then headed back to our room for the night.  They had a wall of all of the famous/sports players that had dined there and I thought it was pretty cool when I spotted Jim Tressel.  On the drive home, we saw a Waffle House with all you can eat seafood, and even though we were hungry, we had to pass!!  Gross....
