PIGEON FORGE, TN
February, 2011

Happy Friday!  I'm really on a roll with this vacation series & I'm loving it.  I hope to be finished by the time we leave for our trip, 2 weeks from today!  Speaking of that trip, Creag finally told me last Sunday where we are going and I am beyond excited!!  I'm not going to reveal our destination yet though.  I'll be doing a surprise recap when we return:)

This post is going to be about our trip to Pigeon Forge, TN back in February, early March 2011.  We actually booked this trip through a time share thing that we were introduced to while we were shopping @ Bass Pro Shop one day.  Totally random, but we had liked the February trip from the previous year so we figured for the small amount of money that it would cost, we'd do it.  February for us, is a good month to travel & get away.  By this time, we're totally sick of Winter & once you get back from vacation, there's not very much time left until Spring hits.

The day we got into Pigeon Forge, we checked into the Welcome Center.  We got our room information & our Timeshare Appt time.  A tour was part of the deal, unfortunately.  After we checked into our room, we took a run around the complex we were staying in.  It was a nice, wooded area.  I think this weekend was the first time that Creag hit 3 miles!  Crazy that it wasn't too long ago he was struggling to hit 3 when he is now training for a Marathon.  After our run, we cleaned up and headed out to dinner.

The next morning, we got up early for our appointment.  We stopped at Starbucks for Lattes & a pastry & headed over.  The salesman wasn't too bad, and I think we got out of there pretty quick.  It was a nasty rainy morning & luckily it let up by the time we left because Creag wanted to fish.  We stopped at Walmart to get a license & drove to The Little Pigeon River to fish.  Well Creag fished & I spent most of my time snapping pictures & being on the look out for Bears.  I don't know why I was worried so much about them, but I was.

After Creag finished fishing, and didn't catch a thing we took a drive to the top of the Great Smoky Mountains.  There was quite a bit of fog from the rain, but it was beautiful.

The next day, we had lunch at a Brewery in Gatlinburg & then went out that night.  We stopped in a few places, before we found a very cool, fun bar!  We ordered a seafood platter that was delicious & the bar had karaoke going on that night.  After a few drinks I finally got the nerve up to sing & did what I always do, "These Boots Are Made for Walking".  I had fun doing it.  It was the first time Creag had ever seen me do Karaoke, he never made it up to Dayton when I used to do it all of the time with friends.  I tried to get him to sing, but he wouldn't.  It ended up being a pretty late, fun night and over all a great vacation!

The next trip I talk about will just be a small one we took to see a concert.  I'll probably write about that on Monday with our weekend recap:)
