Weekend Recap/Mothers Day
Monday morning has graced us with her presence once again in the blink of an eye. We had a pretty good weekend, with quite a bit of rain so all of our scheduled games for the weekend were cancelled except for Ellery's on Saturday & Wyatt's on Sunday.
Friday morning, I got an email from my boss telling me to take my family out to dinner and give him the bill for a large credit that I got us from one of our vendors. I took advantage of it & we went out to Fuji Steak House on Friday night & sat at the Hibachi table.
Saturday morning we finally made it to one of Ellery's soccer games. It was definitely fun to watch. She got in there and would get the ball only when no one else was around. She almost had a goal but it hit the post! After the game, the whole family went to Dixie Chili for lunch and then we had Evie's First Communion Party.
After the party, we dropped Sammie off at Mica's so Jeni could pick her up later that night and then drove to the VA Hospital to visit my Uncle Steve. He was awake and talking, but saying a lot of off the wall stuff, so the stroke has affected him a little more than I thought. He's hopefully going to start some therapy this week to help his recovery. I really don't think he's going to be healthy enough to start Chemo though which isn't good for his cancer. We left the hospital when he fell asleep and then went to dinner w/ my parents & Grandpa to Fricker's.
Sunday was Mothers Day so Creag & the kids let me sleep in until about 10 per my request. While I was still in bed, Hank & Wyatt brought in the gift that they had made me. Hank drew a heart on a piece of wood and Creag cut it out for him. They colored it and all. Very, very cute and I love the lips!
Creag had plans to take his Parents to the Reds game and had to leave around 10:30 so he gave Skylar his credit card so they could take me to breakfast. We went to Bob Evans (Bob Devans is what Wyatt called it) & we all ordered their delicious Bottomless Hot Chocolate. The kids got chocolate chip pancakes & we shared an order of Biscuits & Gravy.
On our way home, we stopped by the park so the kids could play. Wyatt had been asking to go for awhile now, but we've been so busy that we hadn't found time. It felt good to finally stop and see how happy it made them.
We got home & watched a little bit of the Red's Game on TV and then got ready for Wyatt's soccer game. He scored a whopping 6 goals!! After the game, I took the kids by the Children's place & finally found Skylar a pair of sandals & a cute skirt that was on clearance. We'd been shopping for shoes for awhile, so I'm glad we finally got her a pair. We tossed some baseball in the yard and then when Creag got home we grilled out Hawaiian Turkey Burgers. They turned out very good! I'll post the recipe on here tomorrow!
