NEW ORLEANS, LA
Part 1
Creag & I decided to get married in New Orleans during the Final 4 weekend of basketball. You've probably read about it in earlier posts. We took the kids, my Parents & Brother came, Creag's Mom & Brother and my best friend Amy came and brought her son, Jacob. We all drove down, straight through, which was a little rough on everyone. We got into New Orleans early & stopped at Cracker Barrel for breakfast. After breakfast we headed to the house that we had rented.
Wyatt was so excited to finally get there and drive over the bridge:)
When we got to the house everyone unloaded & got settled in. We got cleaned up & went to dinner that night at a seafood place called Huck's. Yvonne paid each of the kids $5.00 to try alligator and they loved it!
The next day, the parents watched the kids while we went downtown to get our marriage license and then went to find the part where we were going to get married. We found one called Audubon that we fell in love with. After we decided on that we went back to the house and hung out for the night. The next morning, we got up early and went to this small corner restaurant for Beigne's & coffee. We let the kids have gelato and they were happy campers.
After breakfast we took everyone to the park & our spot that we decided to get married. The kids loved it. We spent several hours there. Creag and my Dad passed football with the boys. The kids climbed trees. We had a great day & made great memories in that park that day.
That night was the first game of the 2 Final Four games that we went to. It was Creag & I, Yvonne & Michael and my Dad & brother. UK Won that game & advanced to the finals!!
Everyone talked me in to going out that night...the night before the wedding. I really didn't feel like it. I said, no, I don't want to be hung over on my wedding day. Everyone called me a party pooper so we went out. The younger generation anyway. The Grandparents babysat for us. We went to Burbon Street & had a blast. We got Hand Grenades, stopped at Pat O'Briens for Hurricanes. Like I said, we had a blast. BUT, the day of the wedding, I was so freaking sick. Like sick as a dog. Sick as I've ever been from drinking. We left for breakfast, and Creag had to bring me back to the house to sleep it off. I've been told that I missed the best breakfast of the trip which is a huge bummer. I'm just glad that I was able to make it to the wedding by 4:30 feeling a little bit better, but I was definitely not 100%.
