Random Update
With a trip recap everyday, I figured I'd squeeze in a little update/weekend recap today. If I get time, I'll do a second post with Day 3 in Hawaii a little later. We've been back from vacation for a little over a week and we've been so busy that it feels like we've been back for months! The Sunday before last, the day that we got back, Wyatt had a soccer game so we met the kids up at the field where he was playing. He scored two goals in his game & I swear they had all grown 2 inches in the week that we were gone! After the game, we went home to unpack & Jeni dropped Sammie off. We gave the kids their souvenirs and then headed over to Creag's Uncle John's for a cookout. The food was great & it was nice to spend the time with the family & tell them all about our vacation. Creag's Aunt Edie, who's been battling lung cancer for a little over a year isn't doing well right now, so we were brought up to speed with what she's been going through. She's a fighter and a huge inspiration to all of us.
Monday, the kids went back to school and Creag & I went back to work. It wasn't too bad getting everyone up and out the door like I had expected after a long Spring Break. Monday night, Hank had baseball practice where Wyatt gave me the sweetest bouquet of flowers. That boy I'm telling you melts my heart. I'm so lucky to call him mine and he will ALWAYS be my baby!
Tuesday, Skylar had soccer practice and then on Wednesday, I headed to Indianapolis for a Trade Show for work. I stayed overnight and my company treated Vendors & Customers to a Pacers Game in a Suite. It was so much fun getting to know everyone on a different, more fun level. We went out after the game to a few different places then headed back to Kentucky early the next morning.
I worked for most of the day & then headed home to take Skylar to soccer practice. Friday was Grandparents day at Wyatt's school so my parents came into town early Friday afternoon. They were planning on sticking around for Hank's Baseball game. His game ended up getting called because of rain so we all planned to head to Sam's soccer game. That was cancelled too so we stayed in & I cooked enchiladas & followed the Boston Marathon Bombing on Fox. Thursday night one of the suspects was shot dead & late Friday, they captured the other one alive! It's been so sad and scary to follow all of this. Saturday, we were busy with games. Hank had pictures @ 1 for baseball & Sam's soccer game was around the same time. Creag took both of the girls because he was taking Skylar to her game later in the day while I took the boys to Hank's baseball game. We met up after Sam's game & the pictures for lunch where Skylar, Hank & Sam tried sushi! Skylar liked it, the other kids, not so much. After lunch, we separated again for the later games. Hank did really well in his game and had a lot of fun. He hit a double & played pitcher & catcher.
Saturday night, we stayed in and Creag grilled dinner. Steak, Shrimp, Steak Fries & Corn on the Cob! It was awesome. First corn on the grill of the year and it was delish!
After dinner I went to get a movie from The Red Box for Creag & I and we watched it in our PJ's & made ourselves an ice cream sundae. Everything that you could imagine was in that bowl:) It was the perfect night in even thought I didn't make it through the entire movie.
Sunday morning, Creag cooked a big breakfast & let me sleep in. Thanks babe! Wyatt had a soccer game that afternoon and afterward I took him & Skylar for ice cream while Hank & Creag went in search of parts for the lawn mower. I had promised Skylar ice cream since I missed her game on Saturday so Wyatt just got lucky and was able to come along.
We ended our weekend with some yard work and a power outage in our entire neighborhood. Luckily, it was only out for a few hours and not the entire evening. We started the busy routine all over again yesterday, but I wouldn't have it any other way!
